Their stories and photographs are exclusive to our magazine, which is available in select retailers worldwide and through our website.
VANESSA COORE
DESIGNER, CO-FOUNDER OF PROJECT TRIBE
ATLANTA, USA
One look at Vanessa Coore’s “gypsy trappin’” wardrobe of bright prints, mixed patterns and massive floral crowns and you would never be able to guess the designer was once on track to becoming a lawyer. When she’s not working as a stylist, the world traveler is actively engaging with her two main passions projects, the online lifestyle store Printed Pattern People offering unique handcrafted pieces globally sourced and Project Tribe, which works to unite the empowering stories of women around the world.
MAI YANO + TSUKASA KAMEYA
MUSICIANS, TRAVELERS
TOKYO, JAPAN
Although their base for creation is Tokyo, the international stage is where Mai Yano and Tsukasa Kameya find their inspiration and audience best. The duo behind the electro-pop band Yokan System have been touring intimate venues from London and NYC to Paris and Amseterdam where audiences instantly recognize and appreciate their musical gravitas. When not on stage, they live simplistically in their minimalist home with a brightly colored sartorial palette.
NATHAN JAMES WILKINS
MUSICIAN, NATURALIST
AUSTIN, USA
Youthful, energetic and talented, Nathan James Wilkins’s free-flowing form transcends not only his music but sartorial expression and lifestyle. The Austin-based musician feels a direct and reverent connection to nature that grounds his existence as well as inspiring his music. From taking stage at SXSW with his band Hikes to his side project Ponca with his girlfriend and solo career Monté, music is as much a necessity to Nathan as oxygen is to life.
JOHANNA TAGADA + JATINDER SINGH DURHAILAY
PAINTERS, TRAVERLERS, ARTISTS
BERLIN + LONDON
Visual artists Johanna Tagada and Jatinder Singh Durhailay are a melting pot of cultures and creative influences. When they’re not traveling the world sourcing inspiration and exhibiting their work, the multicultural couple share their workspace between Berlin and London, which they say encourages their art’s creativity rather than creating a sense of competition. Jatinder brings motifs from his Indian heritage into his paintings, while Johanna paints with a sense of simplicity and whimsical attitude. Together, the quirky couple shows that art is a shared experience.
