Inside Issue 5, we have explored and entered the homes of fascinating creative talents from all pockets of the world who are producing exuberant work inspired by intrinsic cultures discovered through their world travels.

Below is a collection of the latest Featured Minds and a brief digest. Their stories and photographs are exclusive to our magazine, which is available in select retailers worldwide and through our website.

NATHALIE KELLEY

ACTRESS, TRAVELER
TOPANGA, USA

The surface level façade common in Hollywood is absent from Nathalie Kelley’s characteristics. Her earthy, humanitarian spirit not only guides her life, but has evolved as a critical influencer in her selection process for potential roles, choosing what stimulates her sense of moral activism and social responsibility. Beyond her screen work, she’s deeply impassioned with seeking channels for her spiritual mentality that can come in various shapes and journeys. Whether it’s learning Bhutanese folkloric dance against the Himalayan landscape or textile weaving techniques at a Spirit Weavers Gathering, Nathalie’s penchant for serenity is everlasting.

RIMON GUIMARÃES

STREET ARTIST, PAINTER
CURITIBA, BRAZIL

The southern city of Curitiba is better known for its gray and rainy days rather than tropical Brazilian sunshine, but brightening up the drab exteriors with rainbows of color is street artist Rimon Guimarães. A self-taught artist inspired by the local graf pixação style, Rimon’s virtuosity with colors gets better the higher the building gets. From a 121-foot mural alongside a residential tower block in Amsterdam to the walls of Gambia in West Africa, his kaleidoscopic murals are left throughout his world travels, but it’s not necessarily a pursuit, he says, but rather, “The walls call me.”

FAISAL AL NASHMI

CHEF, PHOTOGRAPHER
KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT

Faisal

The extent and depth Faisal Al Nashmi goes to create a superlative meal is instantly known by that first taste, but even before he steps into his kitchen, his pursuit to culinary perfection is equally boundless and borderless. Inspired by the foodie culture of Miami, where he studied at university, he and his partners started the concept space of Almakan in Kuwait City that combines an art gallery, café, shared working space and Faisal’s restaurant. Whether its perfecting ramen or seeking the best coffee blend, his culinary prowess leads the flourishing foodie culture of the city.

KALI ARULPRAGASAM

JEWELRY DESIGNER, ARTIST

LONDON, UK

Featured Minds of Issue 5
Featured Minds of Issue 5

Inspired by learning and applying traditional craftsmanship, Kali Arulpragasam doesn’t believe in placing barriers between art and life. On any given day she would much rather spend her time in remote lands creating with local indigenous cultures over designing celebrity collaborations or playing into the hustle and bustle of urban politics. Her jewelry line Super Fertile, which initially started as a side project from her 9-to-5, has blossomed through her travels far and wide as every piece produced embodies the rich local heritage with contemporary creativity.
